The history of Lithuanian money

With the help of visual aids the early exchanges in trade are discussed, an overview of the coins from antiquity to the present day is given and the appearance of banknotes is presented. The variety of coins - circulation, commemorative, made of precious and base metals- is unveiled. The parallels between foreign and Lithuanian currencies are drawn, both similarities and differences are shown. In the practical part of the session your own money is designed: alloys from plasticine are molded, banknotes and coins are drawn on wooden or cardboard cards.

Medininkų Castle (Vilnius district, Medininkai village.). Duration - 1 hour.

It takes place all year round during the opening hours of Medininkai cstle hours (registration in advance).

The minimum number of participants - 5 people, maximum - 20 people.

Educational session - £ 2 / € 0.58 for student, 4 EUR / 1,16 EUR for adult

Educational session price with museum visits - 4 EUR / 1,16 EUR for student, £ 8 / 2,32 EUR for adult.
