Trakai castles in fightings with the Teutonic Knights

5-12 graders and adults

During the educational session the participants are introduced to the defensive castle system in the Great Duchy of Lithuania and the role of Trakai castle is analyzed. The session starts in Trakai Peninsula Castle. Having viewed the sight and walking alongside Lake Galvė you approach the Island castle. The exhibition is looked into partly - to the extent that it is related to the topic. During the workshop, you learn to distinguish the difference between convent and walled castles, what is the difference between Gothic and Vendian walls, you also become aware of what is shell masonry construction and other terms related to defensive architecture. Only during this session you can visit the Duke Palace defensive shelter of the island castle and the main tower dungeon.

Trakai, Trakai Island castle. Duration: 1,5 hour.

Programa vykdoma ištisus metus Trakų salos pilies darbo valandomis ( būtina išankstinė registracija).

Takes place all year round during the opening hours of Trakai Island Castle (registration in advance)

Minimum number of participants – 5 persons, maximum- 30 persons.

Educational session - 10 Lt/2,90 Eur student,22 Lt/6,37 Eur adult.
